Viewing the Directory Access Rights
This modus in the files-tab allows you to impersonate a user or group and view which directory access rights this user or groups has on the directory's in your domain. If by example you want to know what rights the users of your accounting department have, you could browse directory by directory ( calculating the combined rights of multiple users and groups etc. ) to find out what the actual directory access rights are, or you just use this TAB, enter an user-id of one of your accountants or the departments group name and browse. The tool will exactly show what rights the accounting user has on different directories and even indicates possible security problems.
How to use this tab:
In the Drop-Down box type a user-id or group-id ( which must belong to the domain/server indicated in the serverlist box) and push the browse button or type F5
The directory access rights tab shows you:
ˇAll directories within the domain
ˇThe directory access rights the user or group has on these directories
ˇGrayed directories indicate NO rights at all
ˇRED directories indicate possible security problems. ( the user or group has NO rights in the directory immediately above this directory but has rights somewhere else in this directory tree !!)
