Features you should know about
The Domain administration not only combines general availble system management functions in one tool b ut also add's over 50 special functions an features which helps an administrator to do its work faster and give moreinsight in setup, security and integrity of its environment. To help you with a quick start you find a few of these fucntions in this overview.
Export: You can export almost all TAB information to further analyse it in any spreadsheet or database.
Import: You want to migrate all users to another server or domain, just use the importing fucntion, through which you can even create new passwords.
Command Line Operations: You want to dump your userdatabase on a regulare base, controlled through a batch or manual, use the command line operations
Registry Compare: Compare the reigistry entries on different servers e.q. to look up the install status of specific software and hardware
Extra Registry entries: can be added to the server main view tab from the settings menu. This also allows you to view some of the registry infor in this tab
View Hidden shares: The network TAB will also display all hidden, but accesible shares on a server
Indirekt group memberships: In the user properties dialog not only direkt group memeberships but also group memeberships inherted through another group are displayed. This memeberships are indicayted with [I].
Real Last Logon date: In NT/W2K domains the logon is performed by any of the domain controllers and registered on each individual server. The domain Administration Tool allows you to browse all logon servers and aggregate the real last logon date and number of logons !
Change many users at once: With the combined or cyclical option ( through the floating menu in the users tab ) you can change the properties of many or all users at once, e.q. password, RAS access etc.
Copy a user: You can quicly copy a user to a new user for quickand individual user creation, e.g. like using user templates
What a user can do on a disk or share: With the files tab directory access rights mode you can impersonate a user and see what he can and what he can't do, even not inherited rights a display and warned about
