Viewing Files In Use / disk-space in use

The Domain Administration Tool allows you to view the usage of disk space of individual users. You gain access to this function through the files TAB. When you browse the Domain Administration Tool will search the selected partition for file and directory ownership's and report on total disk usage per owner. You set the partition to be browsed in the files settings dialog. This of course will only work on NTFS partitions.

The TAB displays after browsing four columns.  The first column UserName indicates the owner, the second column Filesize in use indicates the amount of disk space used by this owner in Kilobytes. The Number of files column gives the number of files owned by this user and the RAW filesize gives the exact number of bytes used.

The Domain Administration Tool also show file denials and directory denials , when selected in the settings dialog. This might happen when you browse without administrative privileges. A UserName missing indicates files without an owner. Normally your virtual memory will not have an owner.

IMPORTANT:
This function can seriously effect the performance of the server on which the ACL's are browsed. Refer to the section on setting Browse Priorities for more information on how to change the performance characteristics.

Note:
You can Export the information contained in the files TAB.
